After getting that fantastic news on Friday, I have been pretty much just buzzing ever since.
One of my best friends had a beautiful baby girl about 4 weeks ago. I so much wanted to go shopping for the perfect present for this beautiful little lady, but after about 7 attempts...during only one of which I managed to actually make it into the baby section of the store, I just couldnt do it.
So, I got the brainwave that if I told my friend that I was going shopping for a baby present, well then...surely I would have to do it.
So, as I was chatting to her on facebook chat, I made a joke that I was going shopping the following day for a baby present, asked whether the little princess preferred Baby Burberry or Gucci Baby, of course the response was 'oh she is a fan of both' (Clever Mommy...!!!)
So, the following day, Patrick and I went off shopping. All day, I was super confident that we were going to buy a pressie for the baby at some stage during the day. So, of course we managed to go to every section of every store, apart from the baby section...!!!
Eventually Patrick that he wanted to go and look at the Guitar Magazines, so I thought...ok, this is my chance, 'I'll go and have a look for something for the baby while you're doing that'
As I entered the store I was still feeling super confident...well, I'd told my friend I was doing it...so I had to...right?
WRONG...!!!
I came to a junction in the store....go left to the baby section...go right to the accessories.............well.....I needed some hair clips, so I'll just go and get those first. So, I pick some clips (that I havent actually worn to this day) and notice that Patrick is entering the store, having finished looking at the magazines.
Well, I didnt want to keep him waiting (yes, there is a first time for everything...!!!)...I pay for the clips and we leave the store.
I just couldn't do it.
So....after talking to the clinic on Friday..................I went to the store on Saturday and pretty much bought every pink baby outfit in sight. I called to my friend's house on the way home to give her the pressies, and was immediately handed this tiny little baby girl, oh gosh she was so tiny.
And.....for the first time in months, it wasnt breaking my heart to be holding this beautiful little being.
So, yes...that is definately progress..!!!
